Sean Carroll humor
How to find the Higg’s Boson, how do we do? We smash particles together with high energy, and watch the debris. But it is not that there is a Higg’s Boson hidden inside the particles! it is that when we smash these particles together, some energy levels mix and some other particles are created.
It is like smashing two Timex watches together and out comes a Rolex.
(Higg: a person named Peter Higg who theorized that there is a particle of a kind, a boson, which is an elementary particle of a kind among 16 or 17 other.)
